Are Video Games better than Board Games?

I have chosen to argue whether or not video games are better than board games. I, being part of a younger generation and a technology baby, believe that video games are better than board games. The main reason for that is because I have grown up with video games and am very familiar. This is, however, not necessarily true for this is only my opinion. Someone of an older generation may easily disagree with my opinion. They may believe that board games are better because they grew up with them and have no idea how to work with technology.

Video games require a good amount of knowledge on how they work. In addition, video games are much more complicated than any board game. Video games are also difficult to operate in one is not familiar with it. However, the younger generation may be able to understand video games, the simple operations of a board game may elude them. This may be different for the older generation who, having grown up with them, have a great understanding of them.

  1. Interesting argument. I, on the other hand, believe they both have pro's and con's to their side. For one, video games can be very addicting while board games can be annoying to explain the rules to others. I hope to find more details on this topic.

  2. Many people can relate to this topic. I never really got into video games like my brothers and when I do play them it's usually an older game anyways. On the other hand,as a family, we play board games and card games all the time. It just seems easier to get everyone involved and easier to explain then trying to teach certain family members how to work the new stuff.
